The idea for this story came to author Stephanie Mayer on June 2, 2003. Unfortunately, in terms of creativity and charisma, he was very different from J. K. Rowling's idea of a late train. Stephanie had a dream, which is also the 13th chapter of the first part of the Twilight series. After writing this down, she decided to write a book.
The first part of this series is the beginning of a vampire's love story for an ordinary girl. Bella Swan arrives in the town of Forks, where her father lives. The parents are divorced, the father has not seen his daughter for a long time, and the town is small and gloomy. Bella quickly attracts the attention and sympathy of many students, but when she sits in biology class with the mysterious and ethereally handsome Edward, she feels that the boy is extremely unfriendly to her, even hostile. The situation changes when a boy saves her life in the school parking lot, and in such a way that it's hard to believe he's human. Bella begins to suspect that Edward is not exactly who he claims to be, and when the truth comes out, problems begin...
I've read all the parts, and in my opinion, the author was just learning how to write in them, and Twilight has an interesting plot, as well as instructions on how to use a calculator. He's boring, and romantic gasps pour out of him in buckets. The vampires depicted in the novel are very "vampiric," it's worth watching horror films about Dracula and reading Interview with the Vampire by Anna Rice to find out how creatures of their kind actually behave. Vegetarianism is quite tolerable, but radiance is considered a literary exaggeration. I fully join the critics and agree with them that the characters are soft, without expression and specific character. Except that out of love for Bella and Edward, I had to read the whole book, and only at the end (at the very end!) some kind of action is taking place. There's nothing emotional about it. I liked the movie more (please don't force me to write a comparison), if you exclude some actors, then at least there the action of three new bloodthirsty vampires appeared throughout the film.
More interesting is the symbolism given by the author to the cover and the title. The cover symbolizes the forbidden fruit according to the Book of Genesis and the love of Bella and Edward. The name is a symbolic twilight of Bella's normal life. For me, it's also a symbol of the decline of a good book.
Nevertheless, according to the assumption of this site, I recommend the book, for example, to understand the psyche of modern teenagers, and for young writers it will be a diagram of how not to write a novel.
